Sharks Sweep Golden Bears in Doubleheader

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern softball team completed a doubleheader sweep over Kutztown on Thursday afternoon from the AD Griffin Sports Complex. Alexis Smith led the way for NSU, totaling four hits and three RBIs across both games, including the game-winning RBI in game one.

How it Happened

BOT 5th – With Alyssa Drogemuller on base, Smith came up to the plate and hit a triple to right center, putting the first run on the board and ultimately securing the 1-0 victory for NSU.

How it Happened

BOT 3rd – Smith picked up where she left off in game one, singling up the middle to bring two runners across home plate for NSU. Shortly after, a sacrifice fly from Madison Fine brought Smith home to put the Sharks ahead 3-0.  

BOT 5th – The Sharks surge continued as a sacrifice fly from Brenna Lokeinsky put another NSU run on the board. 

BOT 6th – Gianna Russo earned an RBI single, extending the Sharks lead to 5-0. 

Nova Southeastern would go on to secure the doubleheader sweep against Kutztown. 

Shark Standouts               

Alexis Smith earned her seventh triple of the season.  

What's Next

NSU will return to action Saturday, March 16th in an SSC doubleheader against Palm Beach Atlantic. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
